새별오름 is one of western Jeju’s best-known oreums, famous for its gentle ridgelines, broad grasslands, and silver grass scenery that changes with the seasons. From the summit, you can look out over Jeju’s mid-mountain region, the western sea, and toward 비양도.
Travel from 이호테우 along 평화로 and take a walk at 새별오름. The climb to the summit takes about 20–30 minutes, but some sections are steep, so allow around an hour for the round trip and breaks. On rainy or very windy days, there is no need to push yourself to the summit; exploring the entrance and the area around 나홀로나무 is also a good option.
