If you had to pick the most beautiful beach on Udo, Coral Beach would be the first that comes to mind. The emerald water and dazzling white sand come together to create a postcard-perfect view. The sand is formed from red algae washed ashore and accumulated over time, so it’s also known as a “hongjo (red algae) aggregate” beach. Highly recommended if you want to fully soak in Udo’s signature sea colors.
This watchtower and lighthouse sit at the northernmost point of Udo. With an endless stretch of blue sea and sky framed by a bright white lighthouse, it’s such a popular photo spot that people line up for shots. If you’re hoping to capture your best Udo photos, make sure to stop by.
The highest point on Udo, this route lets you look out over the entire island at a glance. You’ll find plenty to see, including Soemeori Oreum, Wind Hill, Saja Rock, and the Udo Lighthouse. If it’s your first time on Udo, this is a must for taking in the island’s scenery all at once.
A popular pork cutlet spot on Udo where you can enjoy an ocean view. The wide-open seascape makes the meal even better. The cheese pork cutlet was especially memorable, with cheese stretching all the way to the last bite. Great if you want a hearty meal while looking out at the water. A shallow beach that’s great for kids to splash around in, making it especially popular with families. With plenty of nearby conveniences—accommodations, restaurants, and cafés—it’s an easy place to spend a relaxed day.
Geommeolle means “black sand,” and true to its name, this beach is covered in dark sand. It’s also home to Dongangyeonggul, one of Udo’s “Eight Scenic Views,” and the dramatic rocky cliffs surrounding the shore are a sight to behold. You can take a boat ride around the area, and there are plenty of well-known restaurants and cafés nearby—perfect if you want both great views and great eats.
A large café inside Hundertwasser Park, known for its fantastic view of Seongsan Ilchulbong. Since it opened relatively recently, it feels clean and comfortable—ideal for a break. Recommended if you want to pause during your island trip and unwind with an open, panoramic view.
