You can’t see the emerald waters of Woljeong-ri, but there’s a café where you can still take in Woljeong-ri’s beautiful puffy clouds and blue sky.

Run by a young couple, the café sits a little away from Woljeong-ri Beach, so it feels calm and uncrowded.

You may not get the emerald shoreline, but you can relax at an easy pace while looking out at Jeju’s blue sky and, far off, the horizon.

Stepping inside, the interior feels distinctive—European-inspired, with a somewhat antique, vintage charm. I greeted the owner. From the way they spoke, I could tell they weren’t originally from Jeju, so I asked a few questions. They shared that they run accommodations on the second floor and the café on the first, and that they’d only just begun their new life in Jeju.

Jazz flows through the quiet, cozy space. I let myself sink into the music for a moment and get lost in thought.

The space is lovely. Even though there isn’t a big table like the ones I prefer, the carefully chosen decor and furniture—each piece clearly prepared with attention—really stand out.

The drinks and desserts are quite underwhelming. They look nice, but they’re not easy to eat. The flavor is not much, either.. It doesn’t seem like they make any desserts in-house.

The colors of the food match the café’s interior. I try to console myself by snapping a photo. With one cool drink in hand and jazz playing in the background, I spent some time chatting with the young couple who had just begun their Jeju life.
