골체오름

This small oreum is located in Seonheul-ri, Jocheon-eup. It was named because its shape resembles a “golche (samtaegi),” a traditional tool used to carry grain. With its gentle, low ridgeline and compact size, it’s an easy climb for just about anyone, and a short walk to the summit is all it takes to enjoy Jeju’s nature. In particular, cherry trees lovingly tended by local residents for many years have been planted throughout the oreum, creating a beautiful spring scene when the whole hill is tinted pale pink with king cherry blossoms. Recently, the Golcheoreum Cherry Blossom Festival has even been held here, establishing it as a 대표 cherry-blossom spot in eastern Jeju. Since it’s not overly crowded, it’s a great place to enjoy a relaxed walk and take photos. From the top, you can also take in views of the Seonheul-ri area and the surrounding oreum landscapes.
