Hexagonal columnar joints formed as hot lava cooled rapidly stretch along the coastline, and the site is known as the largest columnar joint area in Korea. The dramatic scene of 30–40 m-high cliffs and powerful waves crashing against them lets you feel the grandeur of nature up close. You can enjoy the view comfortably along well-built observation decks, and on clear days the contrast between the blue sea and black basalt is even more striking.
