소개
Baekrokdam is a volcanic crater lake located at the summit of Hallasan at an elevation of 1,947 m, and is one of Jeju’s most symbolic natural attractions. Known as the highest summit crater lake in South Korea, its enormous oval crater and the majestic ridgelines of Hallasan come together to create an awe-inspiring landscape. On clear days, you can take in the crater’s distinctive terrain, the surrounding oreum (parasitic cones), and sweeping views across Jeju at a glance, with a completely different charm in every season. In spring and summer, alpine plants form a spectacular sight; in autumn, silver grass and fall foliage stand out; and in winter, snowy scenery draws many hikers. Summit hikes are possible via the Seongpanak Course and the Gwaneumsa Course, making it a top natural heritage site you’ll want to experience at least once on a Jeju trip.
