Seotal Oreum

A low, gently sloping oreum located in Sangmo-ri, Daejeong-eup. Beyond its beautiful natural scenery, it is a historic place that preserves traces of Jeju’s modern and contemporary history. At the summit, you can find remains of a coastal artillery emplacement installed during the Japanese colonial period, and nearby are historical sites such as the Altteureu Airfield and Japanese military bunkers. A memorial space has also been created to remember the painful history of the Jeju 4·3 and the Korean War era, making it a meaningful place to reflect on both nature and history. With a relatively gentle walking path, it’s well suited for enjoying both historical exploration and an oreum stroll while taking in views of western Jeju.
