소개
Created to honor the achievements of Kim Man-il, who was granted the title of Heonma Gongsin after donating thousands of horses to the state during the Joseon era. Kim Man-il is recognized as a figure who helped the nation overcome crises by offering horses to the country on multiple occasions during and after the Imjin War. Inside the memorial museum, you’ll find exhibitions on Kim Man-il’s life and accomplishments, the history of Jeju’s livestock-raising culture, and a wide range of horse-related materials, along with hands-on programs such as screen horseback riding. Visitors can also learn about the horse culture of Uigwiri and the history of the Jeju horse in an easy and engaging way, making it a popular educational destination for families and student trips. When visited together with the nearby Otkwi Horse Theme Town, it becomes a special place to better understand why Jeju is called the “island of horses.”
