A healing forest trail lined with dense cedar trees—one of Jeju’s most beloved walks. When it rains, a thick mist settles in, creating an even more mysterious mood. Follow the well-maintained wooden deck path and you’ll hear birdsong mingling with the sound of rain—your mind naturally calms down. The trail is mostly flat, so it’s easy for all ages to enjoy, and even on overcast days you can capture beautiful, atmospheric photos here.
A “thousand-year forest” thick with nutmeg yew trees that are 500 to 800 years old. The rain-soaked red scoria path paired with the lush green forest is picture-perfect. Walk along the flat trail for about an hour, and the forest’s clean air and stillness wrap around you. From the enchanting intertwined trees to the “New Millennium” nutmeg yew, this is a place where you can feel even deeper charm on rainy days.
A quiet oreum known for its wide meadow at the entrance and the wetland that sits atop the crater. The mix of hydrangeas and towering cedar trees is stunning, and on rainy days, the wetland shrouded in mist feels even more mysterious. You do have to climb a steep staircase, but the peaceful crater wetland view waiting at the top more than makes up for the effort.
A museum where you can explore Jeju’s history, culture, and nature all in one place. Admission is free, and the space is modern and well organized, making it perfect for a relaxed rainy-day visit. The immersive media exhibition on Basement Level 1 expresses Jeju’s landscapes and culture through light, and it’s especially memorable. It’s a solid indoor stop where you can easily spend about two hours taking your time.
A museum where you can take a deep dive into Jeju’s identity—the lives and culture of the haenyeo (women divers). Their tools and personal stories are thoughtfully displayed, and multilingual documentaries are screened as well. If you’ve watched dramas like ‘Pokssak Sogassuda’ or ‘Welcome to Samdalli,’ the experience hits even harder. If you’re lucky, you might even spot haenyeo working in the sea right in front of the museum.
A dazzling world of media art crafted with lasers and projections. The massive mural-like space that shifts with the music feels truly magical. Interactive exhibits—like animals you color in coming to life on a huge screen—add even more fun. There’s even a café where light is projected onto the cups and tables, making it a perfect place to enjoy a rainy day entirely indoors.
An immersive media-art exhibition set inside a former communications bunker that’s been transformed into a gallery. Masterpieces cover the enormous walls and floors, moving in sync with the music—during the hour you spend wandering through it, it’s easy to forget everything else. Every corner is a photo spot, and the show also weaves in stories like Jeju’s formation and myths, making it an experience that fills both your eyes and your mind.
Korea’s largest indoor botanical garden, located in Jungmun. The highlight is the enormous glass greenhouse—perfect for ducking out of the rain—with beautifully maintained plants arranged by zone. Deeper inside the garden, there’s also a small library where you can take a break. A dependable choice for rainy days when you still want to soak up that lush greenery.
A memorial hall dedicated to Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, a great Joseon-era scholar, where you can encounter his life and art. The restrained architecture designed by Seung H-Sang is a work of art in itself. You can quietly look through the pieces and stories from his exile years in Jeju—and free admission is a welcome bonus. With traditional Jeju houses to explore as well, it’s a wonderful place to get contemplative on a rainy day.
One of only two Teddy Bear Museums in the world. Teddy bears on each floor are arranged around different themes and recreate iconic scenes from history, making it fun for everyone from kids to adults. You can also join a hands-on activity to make your own teddy bear, and there’s plenty more—café, garden, and even an Elvis teddy-bear performance. An unbeatable indoor destination for a family trip on rainy days.
Located in Seopjikoji, this is Korea’s largest aquarium. The massive ocean tank and the underwater tunnel—where it feels like you’re walking beneath the sea—are truly spectacular. With plenty to watch, including diving shows, you’ll lose track of time. Spacious and modern, it’s a highly recommended Jeju stop when it’s raining or windy.
A café on the Gujwa coast with a sweeping 180-degree ocean view. The first floor is a storied space that’s still used as a work area by haenyeo today. Carrot-themed drinks and a moist carrot cake are the signatures. Sit at the window bar seat and watch the rain fall over the sea—it becomes a scene you won’t forget.
A café on the Ihodong waterfront, striking for its minimalist exposed-concrete exterior. The highlight is the ocean view through the huge windows, especially atmospheric on rainy days. The carefully made desserts and fragrant coffee are satisfying, too. Visit earlier in the day before it gets crowded to enjoy an even more relaxed vibe.

There’s also a small garden to stroll through after the rain—an intimate space that reflects the owner’s warm touch.
A quiet book café in Jeoji Village, surrounded by shelves of books. The tightly packed bookcases, thoughtfully styled interior, and even an adorable cat make it a perfect hideaway on rainy days. Pair a fragrant coffee and cake with a few pages, and you’ll completely lose track of time. A wonderful place to spend some true me-time while listening to the rain.
