소개
Located in Guom-ri, Aewol-eup, this is a Jeju traditional salt-production site where the old method remains intact: seawater is held in stone-built salt pans and naturally evaporated by the sun and wind to produce salt. As a rare traditional salt-field cultural heritage site in Jeju, it’s a special place to glimpse the lifestyle and ingenuity of Jeju people in the past. Along the coastline, basalt stone salt pans stretch in a long line, creating a distinctive Jeju coastal landscape where the blue sea and black basalt scenery come together. It’s especially popular as a photo spot at sunset, when the red-tinted sky and sea blend beautifully with the stone salt fields. It pairs well with a drive along the Aewol Coastal Road and is a hidden gem on Jeju’s west coast where you can experience both history and nature at once.
