Byeolbangjin

Built as a military fortification to defend Jeju’s eastern shoreline during the Joseon period, this is one of the island’s 대표 coastal defense remains. Parts of the fortress are well preserved, offering a glimpse into its original appearance. From atop the walls, you can take in panoramic views of Udo, Seongsan Ilchulbong, and the eastern sea of Jeju. With broad grassland and coastal scenery nearby, it’s great for walks and photo spots, and is considered a must-visit in Gujwa-eup where history and nature come together.
