소개
Seongsan Ilchulbong is one of Jeju’s 대표 natural attractions, a tuff cone formed by an underwater volcanic eruption about 5,000 years ago. At the top of this approximately 179 m oreum lies a massive crater, and its distinctive terrain and magnificent scenery have made it an iconic symbol of Jeju. True to its name, the moment the sun rises is especially beautiful, making it one of Jeju’s best sunrise spots. Recognized for its value, it is designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and a Natural Monument. The round trip to the summit takes about 40–60 minutes, making it an easy climb, and from the top you can enjoy sweeping views of Udo, the sea off Seongsan, and Gwangchigi Beach. It is a representative attraction and an essential stop on any trip to eastern Jeju.
