Yeongjusan

Yeongjusan is an oreum about 326m above sea level, located in Seongeup-ri, Pyoseon-myeon. Beloved for its wide-open grassland scenery and distinctive ridgeline, it’s one of the most popular oreum in eastern Jeju. Said to have been a place where immortals once stayed, it has also been known as “Yeongmoru,” and today it’s even more famous for the long wooden staircase photo spot called the “Stairway to Heaven.” The hike to the summit takes about 20–30 minutes, making it an easy climb, and a round trip of around an hour is perfect for a light outing. Along the way you’ll see broad pastures and grazing cattle, creating an exotic, ranch-like Jeju landscape. From the top, you’ll enjoy refreshing panoramic views taking in the sea toward Seongsan Ilchulbong, Hallasan, and the surrounding oreum at a glance. In early summer, blooming hydrangeas make the scenery even more beautiful—one of eastern Jeju’s hidden oreum gems.
