Hwasun Gotjawal Ecological Forest Trail

This is a nature exploration course where you can walk through and experience Jeju’s distinctive Gotjawal terrain firsthand. Gotjawal is a unique ecological landscape found only in Jeju, where forests have grown over rock fields formed by volcanic activity. Here, you can encounter a remarkable natural environment where northern and southern plant species coexist. The trail network spans about 9 km in total, and the basic route takes roughly 30–40 minutes, making it an easy walk for most visitors. As you follow the forest path, you’ll pass dense woodland, stone-wall paths, and diverse vegetation, and from the observatory you can also enjoy views of Hallasan and Sanbangsan—an ideal spot for both healing and light trekking.
