While passing through Gimnyeong, one building caught my eye. Its red brick and white exterior looked particularly striking beneath Jeju’s blue sky. It had not been part of my original plan, but the building itself stopped me in my tracks. So I stepped into The Moment Gimnyeong, thinking I would take a short break.

A building that complemented Jeju’s blue sky
Up close, the building drew my attention once again. Clean lines, warm brick tones, and wide, open windows came together harmoniously. It had a distinct presence amid Gimnyeong’s quiet village scenery, yet it did not feel out of place.
On a clear day like this, the white and red appeared even more vivid. I was more someone drawn in by the building than someone who had specifically sought out the café, and the closer I got to the entrance, the better that spontaneous choice felt.

Inside, it truly felt like a spacious café
The building had not looked small from the outside, but once inside, its scale became even clearer. The seating did not feel cramped, and light streaming through the large windows brightened the entire space. This kind of room to relax is more welcome than you might expect when taking a short break during a trip.

Each area had a slightly different atmosphere, making it fun to look around and choose where to sit. Even with other guests present, there was enough space for everyone to enjoy their own time without much disturbance. It was also a pleasant place to rest while gazing at the scenery outside. I had planned to stay only briefly, but naturally found myself slowing down.

A satisfying break with drinks and dessert
The building created the café’s first impression, but it was ultimately the drinks and dessert that completed my time there. With the beautifully presented items in front of me, a short pause in the middle of the journey became surprisingly special. It was not just an attractive space—the flavors were equally delightful.

Little glimpses of Gimnyeong found inside the café
On one side were photographs and postcards featuring Gimnyeong’s scenery, along with small keepsakes. It felt like more than simply a place to have a drink—it offered a subtle glimpse into the area’s character. Souvenirs encountered while traveling have a curious power to keep you browsing, even if you do not intend to buy anything.

A pleasant place to pause between Gimnyeong Beach and Segial Beach
The Moment Gimnyeong is a convenient stop on a day spent exploring both Gimnyeong Beach and Segial Beach. The route flows naturally: stroll along Gimnyeong Beach, famous for its emerald waters, take a short break at the café, and then continue to Segial Beach.
Segial Beach is known as a major filming location for the drama Welcome to Samdal-ri. A red lighthouse and clear sea come together like a scene from the show, and when the tide is right, a broad stretch of white sand is revealed. Those who have watched the drama can also enjoy looking for familiar views.
This was not a café I had chosen as a destination from the beginning. Drawn in by a building that complemented Jeju’s blue sky, I opened the door and ended up enjoying drinks and dessert in a space that was more spacious and comfortable than expected. If you need a moment to unwind during a trip to Gimnyeong, letting chance guide your steps like this can be a wonderful choice.

This is a cozy, atmospheric café located near Gimnyeong Beach. With its high ceilings and spacious interior, it offers a relaxed vibe, highlighted by a modern yet warm design. The café has both a first and second floor, making it a comfortable place to linger, and some seats even offer views of the Gimnyeong sea. Signature menu items like their in-house roasted coffee and chestnut cream latte are especially popular, and the ample parking makes it an easy stop during your trip. It’s a great café in eastern Jeju to take a break while traveling around Gimnyeong Beach and the Woljeong-ri coastal road.
