As the sun slowly sinks beyond the far edge of the earth, dusk settles over Gwangchigi Beach and adds an even more sparkling scene.
For me, Seongsan Ilchulbong as seen from Gwangchigi Beach is the best photo spot. The unique terrain, formed by lava flowing into the sea, is covered with thick green moss, creating a mysterious landscape. It’s especially stunning at low tide, when the rock formations stand out even more.
My husband and I always keep camping chairs and a table in the car. Whenever we come face to face with Jeju’s beautiful nature, we pull out the chairs, sit down, and quietly take it all in—and Gwangchigi Beach is a moment we can’t just pass by.
With just one cup of coffee, anywhere can become a great café.
And there’s one more photo spot we love. If you walk along the sandy beach to the side opposite Seongsan Ilchulbong from Gwangchigi Beach, you’ll spot a beautiful sailboat.

It’s also great to pair with a coastal walk, and the views are especially beautiful at sunrise and on clear days, making it a consistently loved stop on eastern Jeju itineraries.
