Jeju Camellia Spots: 6 + 3 Picks

A practical guide to 6 paid camellia spots in Jeju for winter (Dongbaek Arboretum, Hueree, Dongbaek Forest, Manor Blanc, Camellia Hill, Dongbaknang) plus 3 free photo points (Castlelex CC Entrance, Topyeong-dong Camellia Road, Wimi Camellia Grove), focusing on blooming timing, admission fees, and key highlights.

Camellia season is back. Beautiful camellia stories are already popping up everywhere, and unlike the mainland, Jeju has lots of ae-gi camellia trees, so the petals fall one by one onto the ground. It looks like a carpet of flowers, which makes it even more stunning. Here’s a roundup of Jeju’s camellia hot spots you can only see in winter.

1. Dongbaek Arboretum

Jeju Dongbaek Arboretum

Dongbaek Arboretum is already a very well-known camellia spot. Sometimes people confuse it with Wimi Camellia Grove; they’re nearby, but they are clearly different places. Dongbaek Arboretum is densely filled with ae-gi camellia trees over 45 years old, and the palm trees peeking through the camellias give it that distinctly “Jeju” vibe.

Admission was recently raised to 5,000 KRW for adults, and you can stay with no time limit. However, since there’s no café building or dedicated resting area, it’s best to come prepared before entering.

2. Hueree Camellia Festival

Hueree Natural Life Park

Hueree Natural Life Park features different flowers each season, and in winter it hosts a camellia festival where you can see countless blooms. As a single attraction, it’s fairly large, and with admission at 13,000 KRW, it’s the most expensive on this list.

There are lots of photo zones, so you can take pictures with different vibes. There are cafés and places to take a break, and the grounds aren’t overly crowded into a tight area, which personally made it very satisfying.

3. Dongbaek Forest

Jeju Dongbaek Forest

Dongbaek Forest is located in Sill-ri, Namwon-eup. It’s a place you often see on various SNS platforms, so I visited with high expectations. Maybe because I expected too much, I ended up feeling pretty disappointed.

Overall it feels similar to Dongbaek Arboretum, so there’s no need to do both—just pick one that fits your route. Admission is 4,000 KRW, the cheapest among the attractions here (excluding cafés).

4. Manor Blanc

Manor Blanc

Manor Blanc is a café famous for pink muhly and hydrangeas. In winter, you can also meet camellias here. They’ve planted more camellia trees this time, so you can see even more blooms, and you can also enjoy a tangerine-picking experience.

The camellia trees aren’t very big yet compared to other places, but there’s a huge swing where you can capture that “once-in-a-lifetime” shot.

5. Camellia Hill

Camellia Hill

Camellia Hill—its name says it all—is Jeju’s largest camellia colony. While there are ae-gi camellias currently popping buds, there are even more native camellia trees that haven’t bloomed yet. So compared to other camellia spots, blooming here is a bit later. Even at the earliest, it’s recommended to visit after mid-January.

As you’d expect from a theme park, it’s a very large attraction. Unlike camellia spots that are mainly for quick photos, here you can also enjoy a walk and listen to birds, which makes it even better. If ae-gi camellias are all about flamboyance, Camellia Hill’s native camellias are about restraint and simplicity.

Admission is 9,000 KRW, which may feel pricey, but it’s cheaper than Hueree. Personally, this was the most satisfying spot—and the best value for money.

6. Dongbaknang

Dongbaknang Café

Dongbaknang—Jeju dialect for “camellia tree”—is a café that became famous for a single signature photo zone. If you pay the 2,000 KRW admission fee, you’ll receive capsule coffee.

It’s not very big, but it’s more than enough for taking “lifetime” photos. It’s located right in front of Dongbaek Arboretum, so it’s a great add-on when you want to take a short break after your visit.

In Jeju, you don’t have to stick to paid attractions to see camellias. Wherever you go, they’re easy to spot—so as a bonus, here are a few points where you can enjoy camellias blooming along the roadside.

1. Castlelex CC Entrance

Castlelex CC Entrance bus stop

This is the Castlelex CC Entrance, often called the “Camellia Stop.” It’s located on Pyeonghwa-ro, so you’ll easily spot it when traveling to Jungmun hotels during your Jeju trip. Camellias in full bloom over the Jeju stone wall make the trip feel even more real.

The camellias at the entrance are beautiful, but if you go just a little further in toward the parking lot, you’ll find a camellia tunnel—definitely worth a stop.

2. Topyeong-dong Camellia Road

토평동 동백길

The camellia road in Topyeong-dong is where you can see pink camellias. Red and pink camellias paired with Jeju stone walls create a beautifully balanced scene.

3. Wimi Camellia Grove

Wimi Camellia Grove is home to native Hallasan camellia trees and a local legend about Grandma Hyeon Maeng-chun. Because blooming is late, you’ll need to come around late January to see fully blooming camellias. The inner area of the grove is private land and is currently blocked off, but it’s still great for a walk along the camellia-tree hedge.
