3 Great Places to Stay for a Jeju Family Trip: Shinhwa World, Booyoung Resort, Phoenix Island

A roundup of three Jeju accommodations that worked well with elementary-school kids: Shinhwa World was convenient for package deals that include the water park/theme park and plenty of food options onsite; Booyoung stood out for its spacious resort-style rooms and two swimming pools; and Phoenix Island, with a heated pool/sauna and an 8-person room, was ideal for a winter trip on Jeju’s east side.

I’ve put together a list of Jeju hotels and resorts we stayed at with our elementary-school kids—places we were really happy with as family-trip accommodations.

Stays
Shinhwa World Hotel & Resort38, Sinhwayeoksa-ro 304beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si

One of Jeju’s flagship integrated resorts, this large-scale resort complex brings together multiple hotels, a theme park, a water park, shopping facilities, and restaurants in one destination. It caters to a wide range of travel styles—from family trips and couple getaways to a relaxing “hotel vacation”—with spacious, comfortable rooms and high-quality amenities. With both indoor and outdoor pools and a variety of entertainment facilities, it’s enjoyable regardless of the weather, and it also offers convenient access to major attractions in western Jeju. Simply staying on property can cover much of your trip, making it a consistently popular choice among visitors to Jeju.

⏰ Check-in 15:00 / Check-out 12:00

Shinhwa World has three hotels (Shinhwa, Marriott, Landing) plus the condo-style Somerset.

Since it was summer, we chose the Shinhwa building that comes with access to the water park.

2 adults + 2 kids, Deluxe Family Twin

It’s a queen bed and a single bed—manageable because our kids are still young.

For a family of four, it did feel a bit tight.

As you’d expect from a 5-star hotel, the room condition was great.

It was super convenient to handle meals right inside Shinhwa World too—Dunkin, Starbucks, black pork restaurants, and more.

We had a blast at the water park.

And to top it off, we even did rides at the theme park—such a full, fun day.

(If you stay in the Shinhwa building, you can use packages that include the water park and theme park.)

Stays
Booyoung Hotel & Resort222 Jungmun Tourist-ro, Seogwipo-si

A large-scale hotel & resort located in the Jungmun Tourism Complex in Seogwipo, this premium property offers rooms with views of Jeju’s southern sea along with comfortable on-site amenities. Its distinctive architecture—imbued with the sensibility of world-renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta—stands out, and the spacious rooms and relaxed resort atmosphere make it highly satisfying for family trips, couples’ getaways, and hotel staycations alike. Guests can enjoy a variety of facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, and walking trails, with excellent access to major attractions such as Jungmun Saekdal Beach and Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. It remains a beloved signature stay in Jungmun for travelers seeking restful time alongside Jeju’s nature.

The resort we were happiest with for the price: Booyoung Hotel & Resort in Jungmun.

Booyoung has both hotel rooms and resort units.

We were traveling as two families (8 people), so we chose the resort.

Premium Suite: a unit with 2 bedrooms and 1 living room.

The first room has a king-size bed.

The second room has two semi-double beds, and there were also two extra bedding sets.

Ocean view costs extra!

It’s a bit more expensive, but once we saw the view, it felt totally worth it.

The biggest highlight of this resort: the pool!

There are two pools. Pool A is the one you often see on social media with an exotic vibe.

It’s 1.3 m deep, so children under 150 cm must be with a guardian and wear a life jacket.

Pool B is 1 m deep, which made it great for kids to play in.

They provide 1 towel per person, sunbeds are free, and there’s no limit on entries—you can enjoy it anytime all day long. A pool resort we liked even more because of that.

Stays
Phoenix Island Jeju107 Seopjikoji-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si

One of Jeju’s signature resorts where you can enjoy both the dramatic coastal views of Seopjikoji and vistas of Seongsan Ilchulbong. From the Glass House designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando to its beautiful buildings harmonizing with the natural landscape, the resort offers a truly special retreat. With expansive grounds, a wide range of facilities, and walking trails, it’s ideal for family trips as well as couple getaways and relaxing stays. Throughout the resort, you can take in Jeju’s sea and grassland views, and it’s conveniently close to major attractions such as Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet Jeju, making it easy to plan your itinerary. A 대표 resort in eastern Jeju where nature, architecture, and rest come together.

⏰ Check-in 14:00 / Check-out 11:00

A resort we stayed at on a winter trip to the east side of Jeju.

We were looking for a place with a heated pool that would be good with kids, and Phoenix Island was our favorite.

Blue Building Royal Suite Room (54 pyeong), up to 8 guests

The first room has a double bed, and the second room has twin beds.

Cooking isn’t allowed here—only a microwave and an electric kettle are available.

For the 54-pyeong unit, up to 8 people get free pool entry. Sunbeds are free, and you can enter as many times a day as you like.

There’s also a sauna, which was great for relieving fatigue.

Life jackets, beach towels, goggles, and tubes are available for paid rental.

The indoor and outdoor pools are connected, making it a great pool for kids to enjoy.
