제주쏭 2026.07.09

While traveling around Jeju with my children in summer and winter, we stayed at quite a few places. Here are three that I would happily visit again. Shinhwa World, Booyoung Resort, and Phoenix Island are all major resorts representing Jeju, but each has a slightly different location and character, so you can choose according to your travel style.

📌 What This Post Covers

I have summarized the locations, check-in and check-out times, room atmosphere, facilities such as swimming pools, and my firsthand experiences at all three properties.

① Jeju Shinhwa World Hotels & Resorts

Stays
Shinhwa World Hotel & Resort38, Sinhwayeoksa-ro 304beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si

One of Jeju’s flagship integrated resorts, this large-scale resort complex brings together multiple hotels, a theme park, a water park, shopping facilities, and restaurants in one destination. It caters to a wide range of travel styles—from family trips and couple getaways to a relaxing “hotel vacation”—with spacious, comfortable rooms and high-quality amenities. With both indoor and outdoor pools and a variety of entertainment facilities, it’s enjoyable regardless of the weather, and it also offers convenient access to major attractions in western Jeju. Simply staying on property can cover much of your trip, making it a consistently popular choice among visitors to Jeju.

The address is 38 Sinhwayeoksa-ro 304beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si. With hotels, a theme park, water park, shopping area, and restaurants all gathered in one complex, you can fill an entire day without leaving the resort. It is also fairly close to the attractions in western Jeju, making it easy to plan an efficient itinerary.

🏨 Shinhwa World has three hotels—Shinhwa Resort, Marriott Resort, and Landing Resort—as well as the condominium-style Somerset, so you can choose according to your preferences. Since we visited in summer, we booked Shinhwa Resort, which included access to the water park.

The room felt slightly compact for a family of four, but as expected of a five-star property, the bedding and finishes were in excellent condition. I also loved the view of the entire complex through the large window.

🍩 With Dunkin’, Starbucks, and even a black pork restaurant inside the complex, we never had to worry about meals. After playing to our hearts’ content at the water park, it was convenient to grab something at a nearby shop whenever we felt hungry.

After having a great time in the water park and finishing the day with rides at the theme park, your schedule will feel completely full. Some Shinhwa Resort packages include water park and theme park admission, so I recommend checking when you book.

② Booyoung Hotel & Resort

Stays
Booyoung Hotel & Resort222 Jungmun Tourist-ro, Seogwipo-si

A large-scale hotel & resort located in the Jungmun Tourism Complex in Seogwipo, this premium property offers rooms with views of Jeju’s southern sea along with comfortable on-site amenities. Its distinctive architecture—imbued with the sensibility of world-renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta—stands out, and the spacious rooms and relaxed resort atmosphere make it highly satisfying for family trips, couples’ getaways, and hotel staycations alike. Guests can enjoy a variety of facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, and walking trails, with excellent access to major attractions such as Jungmun Saekdal Beach and Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. It remains a beloved signature stay in Jungmun for travelers seeking restful time alongside Jeju’s nature.

Its distinctive exterior, designed by world-renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta, makes a strong impression, and this property offered the best value for money of the three. It is also close to major attractions such as Jungmun Saekdal Beach and the Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff.

🏠 The property has both hotel and resort buildings. Since two families—eight people in total—were staying together, we chose a spacious resort room. With two bedrooms and one living room, it offered plenty of space for both families.

The ocean view costs extra, but after seeing the sea and oreum ridgelines from the balcony, I felt it was worth the price.

🏊 The Pools Are a Real Highlight

There are two pools, and one is frequently featured on social media for its exotic scenery. It is 1.3m deep, so children under 150cm must be accompanied by a guardian and wear a life jacket. The other pool is 1m deep and was more comfortable for children to play in. Each guest receives one towel, and sun loungers are free to use all day, so we could enjoy the facilities without worrying about extra costs.

③ Phoenix Island Jeju

Stays
Phoenix Island Jeju107 Seopjikoji-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si

One of Jeju’s signature resorts where you can enjoy both the dramatic coastal views of Seopjikoji and vistas of Seongsan Ilchulbong. From the Glass House designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando to its beautiful buildings harmonizing with the natural landscape, the resort offers a truly special retreat. With expansive grounds, a wide range of facilities, and walking trails, it’s ideal for family trips as well as couple getaways and relaxing stays. Throughout the resort, you can take in Jeju’s sea and grassland views, and it’s conveniently close to major attractions such as Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet Jeju, making it easy to plan your itinerary. A 대표 resort in eastern Jeju where nature, architecture, and rest come together.

Its location offers both the spectacular Seopjikoji coastline and views of Seongsan Ilchulbong, and we booked it while looking for a resort with a heated pool for a winter trip to eastern Jeju. It is also well known for the Glass House designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando.

🛏️ We booked a Royal Suite that accommodates up to eight guests. One bedroom had a double bed and the other had twin beds, making it easy for us to split up and sleep with the children. Cooking is not allowed, but the room has a microwave and electric kettle.

♨️ For the 54-pyeong room, up to eight guests receive free pool admission, and the sun loungers can be used as many times as you like throughout the day. There is also a sauna, which was perfect for easing the fatigue of winter travel. Life jackets, beach towels, goggles, and swim rings were available to rent for a fee.

Choose According to Your Travel Style

Choose Shinhwa World if you want to enjoy a theme park and water park in one place, Booyoung Resort if value for money and swimming pools matter most, or Phoenix Island if you want a heated pool for winter swimming and spectacular scenery. All three were places I would gladly revisit with my children.
