Today, we’re rounding up everything at a glance—from the 2025 Jeju beach opening schedule to recommended shores for family trips and aesthetic getaways.
✅ 2025 Jeju beaches: when do they start operating?
This year, openings started a bit earlier than usual.
As of June 24, 2025, the beaches that opened early are as follows.
Hyeopjae, Geumneung, Gwakji, Hamdeok, Iho Tewoo, Woljeong, Gimnyeong, Samyang, Hwasun Geummorae, Pyoseon
Sinyang Seopji opened on June 26, and Jungmun Saekdal opened on June 30.
Standard operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.,
but during peak season—July 17 to August 15—some beaches will also run night operations.
Samyang, Woljeong: until 8:00 p.m.
Iho Tewoo, Hyeopjae: until 9:00 p.m.
Another welcome update: prices are being kept fixed to prevent overcharging at beaches!
Parasol 20,000 won, platform daybed 30,000 won—so you can enjoy your time more comfortably.

Geumneung Beach
With Biyangdo Island as the backdrop, it’s beautiful—and its shallow waters and gentle waves are a big plus.

Connected to Hyeopjae Beach, Geumneung Beach offers a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere while remaining one of Jeju’s most beloved beaches. Its clear, transparent emerald sea, fine white sand, and the beautiful view of Biyangdo Island across the water attract many visitors. With shallow, gently sloping waters, it’s ideal for families to enjoy swimming and playing in the sea. At low tide, the beach widens dramatically, revealing natural tidal pools that add a special charm. Recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy stunning sunsets and an unhurried seaside walk. Currently operating normally and open year-round.

Hamdeok Beach
Known for its clear, blue-emerald water and soft white sand.
The water is shallow, making it great even with toddlers.
One of Jeju’s signature beaches, known for its clear, transparent emerald sea and a wide stretch of fine white sand. With shallow water and generally gentle waves, it’s a beach that anyone can enjoy comfortably—from families to couples and friends. In the middle of the beach, palm trees and a well-maintained walking path create an exotic Jeju vibe, and nearby you’ll find plenty of cafés, restaurants, and accommodations, making it convenient for planning your itinerary. On clear days the sea color looks even more vivid, and with beautiful sunsets and night views, it’s a must-visit Jeju spot that’s charming both day and night.

Pyoseon Beach
Featuring a wide sandy shore and warm water temperatures.
You can enjoy both sand play and swimming—so it’s a favorite for families.
This is one of Jeju’s widest white-sand beaches, known for its gentle depth. Especially at low tide, the sea recedes to reveal a broad, circular sandy area, and shallow seawater forms a natural pool, creating a distinctive landscape. With shallow water and a mild slope, it’s a well-known beach for families and visitors with children. Nearby, there are also plenty of places to visit together, such as Jeju Folk Village and the Haevichi Hotel. The seascape changes with the seasons, and it remains a popular spot for strolls and photography year-round.
