Netflix’s drama Suriname is incredibly hot right now. In particular, as it became known that many scenes were filmed in Korea rather than on overseas locations, interest in the filming sites grew—and Jeju has a Suriname filming spot too.

Beloved for its outstanding view over the sea of Seogwipo and its exotic ambiance. The forest path leading to the café sets a special mood, and the panoramic ocean scenery that unfolds the moment you step inside is striking. With European-style architecture, spacious outdoor areas, and a beautiful garden, it’s also considered one of Jeju’s 대표 photo spots. Enjoy coffee, bakery items, and desserts, as well as a brunch menu. It’s also known as a filming location for the Netflix drama “Narco-Saints.” Located near Jeongbang Waterfall and the Seobok Exhibition Hall, it’s a 대표 Seogwipo café that’s great to visit together with nearby attractions.

I visited the Honeymoon House Café, which used to be Paradise Resort and is now run as a café.

Right from the entrance, huge palm trees create an exotic scene. The long-tended garden is especially impressive.

As soon as I stepped in, a building that looked like something you’d see in Suriname caught my eye. In the drama it’s depicted as a mansion in the jungle, but in reality Honeymoon House is located by the sea.
Not all of the former resort buildings are in use—only the single building by the shore is operated as a café—so aside from the café building, you can see other structures that have fallen into ruin.

Walk inward along the path between the European-style buildings and the beautifully maintained garden, and you’ll arrive at the entrance to Honeymoon House.

Once a beloved stay for honeymooners visiting Jeju and a popular wedding photo spot, Seogwipo’s Honeymoon House disappeared as a place of memories. After many twists and turns, it reopened in 2018 and has since emerged as a unique travel destination.

It’s not the sleek, clean style you often see in modern cafés, but the antique, old-world atmosphere—reminiscent of a European restaurant—is even more striking.
Even though there were plenty of people, I liked that there weren’t too many tables inside.

Stepping outside, a refreshing sea breeze came with an incredible view. I grabbed a seat at an outdoor table, looking out over the Jeju sea from a dizzying cliff-top setting.
Spending time watching the sun set in the cool ocean breeze is truly romantic.
