Chagwido Cruise Timetable·Prices·Ticket Office Guide + Chagwido Trekking Course

Chagwido is an uninhabited island about a 10-minute cruise from Jagunae Port. There are 8 departures a day from 9:40 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. (the last one is a sunset-only cruise). Fares: Regular—Adults 15,000 KRW / Children 12,000 KRW; Sunset—Adults 20,000 KRW / Children 15,000 KRW. The loop trek around the island takes about 1 hour.

If you travel often on the west side of Jeju, you’ve probably spotted an island out at sea from Suwolbong or Dangsanbong.

That mysterious island you can recognize even from far away is Chagwido

This time, I got to spend a special day actually stepping onto the island.

It was a unique route: take a cruise in, do a full loop trek around the island, then enjoy the scenery again from the water on the way back.
Today, I’m putting everything in one place—from the Chagwido cruise timetable, Chagwido cruise prices, and where the Chagwido cruise ticket office is, to practical Chagwido trekking tips.

ChagwidoSan 117, Gosan-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju-si

Located off the coast of Gosan-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju-si, this is Jeju’s largest uninhabited island and a 대표 natural attraction of western Jeju. It takes about 10 minutes by boat from Jagunae Port to reach the island. Chagwido is famous for its stunning views where steep coastal cliffs, unique rock formations, and the deep blue sea come together. Walking the island’s coastal trail lets you experience Jeju’s pristine nature up close, and the surrounding waters also offer cruise sightseeing and sea-fishing experiences. In particular, the scenery around Chagwido—such as Beom Bawi (Tiger Rock), Janggun Bawi (General Rock), and sea caves—is considered among Jeju’s finest, and it is also beloved as a sunset spot. A highly recommended place to visit if you want to feel the grandeur of Jeju’s nature.

•8 times a day! Complete Chagwido cruise timetable

To get to Chagwido, you’ll need to take a cruise boat.

The service I used operates under the name “Chagwido Sunset Cruise,” departing from Jagunae Port in Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City.
The Chagwido cruise timetable runs 8 times daily from 9:40 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Departures 1–7 let you disembark on the island to enjoy both trekking and a cruise, while the final 8th departure is a sunset-only cruise focused on the evening views.
I took the very first boat in the morning, but next time I definitely want to try the sunset course timed with golden hour.

The Chagwido cruise timetable can change by season or weather, so checking ahead is a must.

•Chagwido cruise prices: regular (with trekking) vs. sunset cruise

The fare felt more reasonable than I expected.
Chagwido cruise prices are 15,000 KRW for adults and 12,000 KRW for children for the regular course, and 20,000 KRW for adults and 15,000 KRW for children for the sunset cruise.
Since you can trek on the island and enjoy the sea breeze and views from the boat, it’s a pretty satisfying price point.
On-site payment is possible, but it’s better to book in advance.

•Where is the Chagwido cruise ticket office? Right in front of Jagunae Port

CP649110

The Chagwido cruise ticket office is located right in front of Jagunae Port, so it’s easy to find.

I booked the 9:40 a.m. boat and arrived about 30 minutes early to fill out the boarding form.
Interestingly, instead of a paper ticket they give you a necklace-style boarding pass. You wear it while visiting the island, then return it when you board again for the ride back.
It’s simple and reduces the risk of losing anything, which I liked.
There’s also a large parking lot in front of the Chagwido cruise ticket office, making it convenient if you’re driving.

•Chagwido trekking course: a full loop around an uninhabited island

CP518511

Once you get off the boat and arrive on the island, the real Chagwido trekking begins.
It’s uninhabited now, but I heard that up until the 1970s it was actually inhabited, with a few households living here.

Even now, you can still see old house sites and stone walls, giving you a sense of the island’s past.

The trekking route loops around the island and usually takes about 1 hour

The trail itself isn’t difficult, but there’s almost no shade, so in summer it can feel pretty tough.
Especially on hot days like now, the sun can be intense and walking may be challenging—so I recommend going early in the morning or visiting in a cooler season.
The shade next to the white lighthouse along the way is basically the only resting spot, so I also stopped there for a bit, cooled down, and watched the ocean.
Chagwido trekking is a special course where you really feel Jeju’s sea as you walk—but it’s best to prepare with your stamina and the weather in mind.

•A precious pause found on Jeju’s west coast

Round-trip cruise + island trekking + ocean sightseeing takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, and it’s an easy course without much worry about seasickness—so most people can enjoy it comfortably.
Above all, I loved being able to feel the Jeju sea up close on a quiet island.
As long as you have the Chagwido cruise timetable, Chagwido cruise prices, and Chagwido cruise ticket office info sorted, it’s an easy trip to plan.
Just don’t push yourself at midday in summer—choose cooler hours for your trek.
