When seeing an exhibition in Jeju, it is easy to visit a single museum and then move on to the next destination. The 2026 Jeju Biennale, however, is a little different. Its exhibitions unfold across five locations, including the Jeju Museum of Art, Jeju Stone Park, and spaces in the old downtown. This time, rather than simply seeing the artworks and leaving, choose a day that lets you experience the neighborhoods around the venues as well.
2026 Jeju Biennale
Dates: August 25–November 15, 2026
Venues: Jeju Museum of Art · Obaek Janggun Gallery at Jeju Stone Park · Jeju Art Platform · Art Space IA · Gallery Remicon

Rather than All Five in One Day, Choose One of Two Routes That Suits You
If you try to visit all five venues in one day, you may end up remembering the travel time more than the artworks. It is much easier to choose between a day beginning at the Jeju Museum of Art and continuing to three old downtown venues, or a day with plenty of time set aside for Jeju Stone Park. Jeju Art Platform and Art Space IA are both on Jungang-ro 14-gil, while Gallery Remicon is nearby on Sanji-ro. Jeju Stone Park, by contrast, is in Jocheon-eup and requires a separate trip.
Option One | From the Museum to the Old Downtown
After exploring the Jeju Museum of Art in the morning, head to the old downtown in the afternoon. Jeju Art Platform, Art Space IA, and Gallery Remicon make a good combination to explore on foot after parking once, rather than moving your car for every stop. The atmosphere in which you experience the exhibition changes with each space. The pleasure of encountering the same theme in several different places is one of the highlights of this Biennale.

If you have some extra time in the old downtown, consider walking over to Jeju Mokgwana. It is a short stroll that lets you take in the texture of the historic city before returning to the exhibition venues. If exhibitions are your priority that day, however, resist the temptation to fit in too many nearby attractions and instead spend more time with the works that catch your eye.

When you start to feel hungry, Dongmun Market is a welcome stop. With three venues clustered in one neighborhood, it is easy to fit a meal between exhibitions. The advantage of this route is that calling it an “exhibition tour” does not make the day feel rigid. See the art, walk through the alleys, and enjoy a meal at the market, and your day in Jeju will flow naturally.
Option Two | A Day to Linger at Jeju Stone Park
If Jeju’s stones and their stories appeal to you more, plan your day around the Obaek Janggun Gallery at Jeju Stone Park. You could combine it with the old downtown venues, but if you also intend to explore the park, it is best to leave plenty of time. The transition from an indoor exhibition to the outdoor landscape is an experience unique to this location.

The place in the photo is the museum within Jeju Stone Park, which is different from Obaek Janggun Gallery, the venue hosting this year’s Biennale. Please view it as a reference photo showing the kinds of spaces found within the park. For the most accurate information about the actual exhibition and route, check on site.
Route Tip
If you are short on time, choose either Jeju Museum of Art + old downtown or a Jeju Stone Park-focused route. It is best to check the official information again on the day of your visit for each exhibition’s opening schedule and closing days, admission tickets, and parking details. Jeju Art Platform and Art Space IA are on Jungang-ro 14-gil, while Gallery Remicon is on Sanji-ro.
Perhaps the best way to enjoy the Jeju Biennale is not to check off every venue, but to carry the thoughts left by one exhibition with you to the next. If the roads and neighborhoods between the venues also remain in your memory, it will feel like a slightly longer journey than a day spent at just one museum.
